The Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) and Google have announced that they have teamed up in order to make the Dead Sea Scrolls available in an online archive. Images of the scrolls will be put in a comprehensible and searchable online database in an effort to make them more accessible to researchers as well as the general public. The approximately 30,000 fragments that make up the collection of manuscripts are to be digitised using state of the art imaging technology developed by MegaVision.
